The problems with pigeons in London is practically world famous, and although an exact figure is not available it is thought that the total population numbers over 1,000,000 pigeons. There have been all sorts of plans to deal with them, some of them quite controversial. They're not just a menace in public places though, if you live in London they can be a big problem to your own property as well.

Luckily there are ways of dealing with them though, so contact Pest Control London 24/7 to find out how we can rid you of your problem with birds. Whatever time of the day or night you get in touch with us, we'll call you back within 10 minutes.

The Problem With Pigeons

Rows and rows of pigeons stading side by side. Everyone knows that when it comes to pigeon control, London has a big problem. But what exactly is the problem with pigeons? Well, obviously there's the problem of the mess that they make. Whether it's to your car, your house, the pavement outside your house, or maybe the car park of your company, it doesn't look nice.

It's worse than that though, it's not all about the appearance. If bird droppings are on your car for too long then the acid in them can end up damaging the paintwork. If they're on the pavement then you might slip on them and end up injuring yourself. Or if they're making a lot of mess in a car park then they could be damaging the image of your business.

How To Get Rid Of Pigeons

Lots of pigeons perched on a tiled roof. The problem of pigeons in London is likely to be around for a while yet. If you want to do something about it in your area though then there are several things that can be applied.

Bird Netting If you have a problem with pigeons, or any other birds, nesting or perching on your roof then bird netting will prevent them from doing that. This involves putting up a net which will cover the roof so that there is nothing solid for the birds to land on.

Bird Spikes If the only problem you have is that pigeons are perching on the edge of your property then you could simply have bird spikes involved. These have been approved by the RSPB as they deter the birds from actually landing there, so they will not actually be harmed.

Wire Deterrent The problem with the spikes is that they don't look great on the side of the building, they do look quite violent even if in effect they are not. Another alternative is to use a wire deterrent, which does the same job but it is made in such a way that you can barely see that anything is there.
